View Full Version : 2008 - Year in review
Since tomorrow is new years eve, lets take a "un-biased" look at the year 2008. What exactly have we accomplished? And what exactly has happened?
U.S. elects first Black President.
I think the thing that most people will remember about this year, is the election of President-elect Barack Obama. He'll have to reign in very difficult times, though. As our previous president's approval rating drops into the high 30's, and our economy is the worst its been since the great depression, its going to be a hard task.
The Olympics, were, for the first time, held in Communist China.
Another important thing that has happened this year, was the olympics being held in China. At one point in time, communication between the west and china was unimaginable. Now, they have an economy that almost surpasses the U.S., and are turning out to be a major power in the world.
The Economy
The $700 billion bailout. Foreclosures. The plummeting stock market. This has been the longest lasting recession in a quarter century.
Entertainment
Amy Winehouse caught with a crack pipe, Miley Cyrus posts nude pictures, a pregnant man. Oh what a world..
The Farewells
From Heath Ledger, to Bernie Mac, many stars from young and old died this year.
With all this excitement and craziness, this year will surely be remembered.

Music was bursting through the roof this year. New albums from Metallica, Joe Satriani, Cold Play, Katy Perry, Guns N Roses, P!nk, etc.
Highest selling album is one by Lil Wayne
The Bailout did a number on everyone, my parents included. Their entire retirement savings went down the drain. :(

I think 2008 will be remembered as one of the most newsworthy and entertaining years in human history. I mean, we have finally elected a black man to be president of the United States, and our economy is in the toliet bowl. We had some great flicks and songs this year, and probably one of the funniest elections ever. Here are just some of my faves:
Favorite New Movies of '08:
1. Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
2. Eagle Eye
3. The Dark Knight
4. Get Smart
Favorite Songs
1. Almost every new song played on 95.1 WAPE except for a few
But, what does 2009 hold? Well, it holds our futures and our newest projects.

Well, ,number one song of the year in U.S and 34 other countries was Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. But I hate that song, I really liked Get Low, which was 2nd song of the year. I also liked Indiana Jones the best! Get Smart was really cool. I saw it on the last day of 2008 XD
